Our Mission
The mission of the Office of the Registrar is to serve the University community. The Office is dedicated to providing timely and efficient registration and records maintenance services in relation to and in support of all instructional programs at the University. This support involves the management and administration of a wide range of record-keeping services for both currently and previously enrolled students. It also requires the fostering of a close working relationship between the Office of the Registrar and the faculty and staff of the University.


The Role of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar is responsible for registering university students, reporting their grades, and maintaining their permanent academic records. In addition, the office provides a variety of related services to students, academic departments, and other constituents.


The Record Services and Registration Office
The Record Services and Registration Office, 105 Holmes/Hunter Academic Building, (706) 542-4040, provides assistance to students with name and address changes, enrollment certifications, registration, schedule adjustments after the drop/add period, and transcript requests. Service Representatives will respond to all in-person and telephone inquiries regarding student-related information as allowed by University, state or federal policies. Requests for transcripts may be submitted by the student through OASIS or in writing as required by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974. A notice of at least 24 hours is required. Standard request forms are available at the Record Services Office; requests in letter form will also be accepted. All transcripts are $2.00 each. Charges are subject to change without prior notice. The Registrar's Office accepts payment in the form of cash or check.


The Residency, Nonresident Tuition Waivers, and Cross Registration Office
The Residency, Nonresident Tuition Waivers, and Cross Registration Office, 114 Holmes/Hunter Academic Building, (706) 542-8796, assists students, faculty, and staff with questions regarding in-state status for tuition purposes and the circumstances under which a student may be eligible for a waiver of the nonresident fee. Other responsibilities include the publication of the schedule of classes each semester and the preparation and production of the commencement program.


The Data Entry and Processing Office
The Data Entry and Processing Office, 107 Holmes/Hunter Academic Building, is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the permanent academic records of enrolled students. In response to information from the deans' offices this office processes class rolls, grade rolls, grade changes, and graduation clearances. This office also mails degree audit reports to deans/departments, orders and mails diplomas, and certifies veterans and qualified dependents for educational benefits.
